So I went to the doctor yesterday and during my complete physical he talked to me about my weight. As most women know, talking about your weight (when you feel overweight) is kind of like being punched in the face...repeatedly. It hurts, and you never quite see it coming to move out of the way.
On my way home I spiraled into this shame spiral about how I should be more on top of it, and how lazy I am...which of course put me in even more of a funk. This morning I woke up with a fresh attitude. I immediately searched for apps on my iphone for counting calories. I found www.myfitnesspal.com. I felt immediately inspired by this. My biggest problem is that when I want to lose weight I want to work out one time and then never step inside a gym again. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. All I have is my own motivation (and the support of my wonderful husband and friends) to keep me going. Please help motivate me by leaving me comments checking up on me. Accountability at it's best!
I ate really well today, and stayed inside my goal. I even worked out for the first time in months! It actually felt really good. I take that back...it felt GREAT! I am inspired and motivated and I hope you will be too. Join me in Project: Make it Happen!!! And if you decide to join www.myfitnesspal.com, please friend me. The more support the better!
Check out Spark People.com It is a great site with all kinds of tools to help in a weight commitment to get healthy and engage in life style changes. it is definitely a wonderful sight! I am on the band wagon to get healthy and stay that way. I have no problem with the work outs it is the whole food thing that keeps me from reaching my goal weight. I will continue to keep pressing on one day at a time!!
ReplyDeleteCarey - I am right there with you! I have my blood work numbers on the fridge hoping that might help. Although there was nothing immediately threatening, I am getting close, and I don't want to cross over that line. Hang in there and email me when you need to! Set a daily goal, weekly goal, and monthly goal...not just weight loss goals, but things such as getting enough sleep, drinking enough water - those types of things. Everyday is a new start - if you fall off the horse, don't spend the day dreading it and shaming yourself, tell yourself that that was yesterday and today is a new day! You can do it!
